Still reeling from the tragic death of her boyfriend, Zach, eighteen-year-old Angel escapes her hometown of Salem, Massachusetts for a pre-college vacation in the U.K. hoping to ease her sorrow. While visiting a popular tourist trap in Wales, Angel stumbles upon a centuries-old painting of the Greek goddess Artemis, which bears an uncanny resemblance to her.

As Angel extends her stay in the quaint Welsh village, she uncovers additional evidence of Artemis's ever-present role in the curious town when she finds cryptic symbols and centuries old records. The plot twists all the more when she finds out that events in the ancient past pitted man, beast, mythic and divine against each other in a fight until death. As Angel faces the undoing of all those she holds dear, she is determined to help her new-found friends restore order in a world that has tested her strength, courage and sanity.
